Madison Twp., MI – A two-vehicle crash sent two women to the hospital with serious injuries and closed the intersection of Cadmus Road and Sand Creek Highway Monday morning.

The Madison Township Police Department told WLEN News on scene that a driver heading westbound on Cadmus failed to yield at the posted stop sign and was struck by a northbound vehicle traveling on Sand Creek Highway. Both vehicles ended up in the ditch on the northwest corner of the intersection.

MTPD says that each vehicle was only occupied by the driver. They were both transported to a Toledo, Ohio area hospital for treatment of their serious injuries.

The roadway was reopened in the early part of Monday afternoon. Alcohol is not a factor in the crash. MTPD told WLEN News Monday morning that they were not positive about seatbelt use of either driver…as they were still in their initial stages of investigation.
