
Tecumseh, MI – The search for the next superintendent of Tecumseh Public Schools is winding down, as the interview process will begin this Saturday.
Current Superintendent, Rick Hilderley, revealed his retirement plans before the start of the 2023-2024 school year, with his official departure from the district scheduled for June 30th.
TPS says that at the Special Board of Education Meeting on Tuesday, board members selected four candidates for the superintendent position to interview… out of 23 applicants. The Michigan Association of School Boards has been assisting Tecumseh Public Schools in the search process, serving as the consultant.
Candidates and the times they will be interviewed on Saturday, March 16, are as follows:
Stephen Doerr, the current Superintendent of East Jackson Schools, will be interviewed at 9am.
Aaron Shinn, current Principal of Milan High School, will be scheduled for 10:10 am.
Current Principal of Tecumseh High School, Kimberley Irish, will be interviewed at 11:20 am.
And Matt Hilton, current Executive Director for Elementary Education at Ann Arbor Public Schools, will be scheduled for 1pm.
Following the interviews this Saturday, the Board will determine the candidates who will proceed to a second round of interviews. The second round of interviews is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19th.
