
Raisin Twp., MI – The Michigan Department of Environmental, Great Lakes and Energy has received a construction permit request from Consumers Energy regarding an area of wetlands in Raisin Township.
The permit request is to construct a new overhead utility line within emergent, forested and southern floodplain forest wetlands. Construction of the new line will involve conversion of point 65 acres of forested wetland and 2.64 acres of southern floodplain forest wetland to emergent wetlands.
The project will also include the installation of six utility poles, by Consumers Energy, within the 100-year floodplain of the River Raisin.
