Adrian, MI – The People vs. Dale Warner has garnered local, regional, and national attention…after the husband of missing Lenawee County woman Dee Warner was arrested and charged with murder and tampering with evidence last week.
She went missing from her Munger Road home in April, 2021 and has not been seen or heard from since. Dee’s brother, Gregg Hardy, spoke with the media after the arraignment last week. He said that there is one person who can ‘end all of this’…
So what led to this arrest two-and-a-half years after Dee’s disappearance?…
The lead defense attorney for Dale, Mary Chartier, also spoke with the press outside the courthouse. She said that, as of the arraignment, there is a lack of evidence against her client…and that her understanding is that this prosecution is driven by emotion, not facts and logic. She also said that the family pushed the prosecution to arrest and charge Dale.
Chartier-Mittendorf hopes that the facts and lack of evidence are brought to light in Lenawee County District Court today, at Dale Warner’s Bond Hearing, and that a reasonable bond will be set. She said that Warner is not a flight risk and not a threat to the community. As of the arraignment, she had not received any evidence from the prosecution. Chartier-Mittnedorf’s understanding is that Dee has disappeared and that no one has found her body. She said that speculation about Dee is fine online, at the dinner table, and community events… but should never make its way into the courtroom.
At a ‘Justice for Dee’ rally in front of the Old Lenawee County Courthouse in Adrian Sunday, family members and legal council thanked law enforcement, the Lenawee County Prosecutor’s Office, and the public for all of their hard work.
