Adrian, MI – The ordinance pertaining to the City of Adrian Human Relations Commission has moved from Study Session discussion to the regular meeting of the City Commission. A ‘first reading’ of the newly-crafted governing document was presented to the public at Monday night’s meeting.
Adrian City Administrator Greg Elliott talked to WLEN News Director Ian Wendt after the meeting earlier this week…
WLEN News asked Elliott about what has been changed with the document since the last time it was before the commission. Instead, a motion was brought forward to disband the HRC. The motion did not receive any support, and died on the floor.
In August, the Commission voted to temporarily cease all activity of the Human Relations Commission until modifications to its authorizing ordinance are complete and in effect, and a full complement of members have been appointed.
Administrator Elliott talked to WLEN News Director Ian Wendt about what has been changed to the ordinance since that time…
There will be a second reading and approval on the next agenda in early November.
