Adrian Police Looking for Suspect in Weekend Machete Attacks

Adrian, MI – In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 29th, Adrian Police officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of North Main for a report that a subject attacked two victims with a machete. Officers located two subjects with severe lacerations to their arms and hands. Both subjects were treated at the scene by police and fire personnel, and transported to Hickman Hospital for further treatment.

An extensive search of the area did not reveal the suspect, who is at large. Witnesses stated that the suspect entered a homeless camp in the woods east of Dollar General, and began arguing with people already there. When asked to leave the area, the suspect struck a female victim ion the arm with a machete. When the male victim came to defend the female, he was also struck with the machete.

Lenawee County Prosecutor Jackie Wyse issued a 4 count felony warrant for 41-year old Jonathan Andrew Gregory. Charges include 2 counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, and 2 counts Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

Gregory is a Caucasian male, 5’7” tall, with brown eyes and a closely cropped or shaved head. Gregory was formerly a resident of Tecumseh. He is pictured below.

Anyone coming in contact with Gregory should consider him armed and dangerous, and should contact police immediately via 911.
