Brooklyn, MI – The Village of Brooklyn is set to receive $250,000 for park infrastructure at Swain Park, as included in the state’s Fiscal Year 2024 budget that has been sent to Governor Whitmer for signing.

The Kiwanis Club of Brooklyn is working to raise $175,000 to replace the current playground equipment located at Swain Park. Their aim is to provide ADA-compliant playground equipment that will create a safe and playful environment for everyone in the community.

The Village Administration is working to supplement the community’s work by identifying additional funding opportunities.

The park named after Calvin Swain, who founded the Village in 1832, is a 10-acre park containing rolling green space, a pavilion, playground equipment, an artesian well, and is situated along the River Raisin.
