Adrian, MI – The Lenawee Economic Development Corporation has been awarded half a million dollars of grant funding, recently announced by Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity.
The grant is part of the $4.6 million in grant awards to 13 organizations that will support the development of employer-led collaboratives helping Michigan employers address critical talent shortages throughout the state.
There are currently more than 60 formally identified ELCs throughout Michigan. LEO provides technical assistance to support the activities of employer-led collaboratives.
Jack Townsley, who manages a Lenawee County collaborative of chemical manufacturers and a consultant to Lenawee Now, said: “Bringing employers together that share common talent pain points and working together to find solutions just works. It has worked with chemical manufacturers, auto dealerships, and wineries, and we are looking to apply this approach to other industry sectors.”
