
Raisin Twp., MI – One person is dead, and another two are seriously injured, from a crash in Raisin Township Wednesday afternoon. The crash occurred at the curve on Occidental Highway, south of Gady Road. Raisin Township Police Chief Kevin Grayer says that upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered two badly damaged vehicles.
Police believe that a 2014 Ford F-150 Pickup truck was traveling southbound, crossed the center line, and struck a 2010 Kia Soul. The driver of the truck was transported to an out of county hospital with serious injuries. The passenger of the Kia was transported by air ambulance to an out of county hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Kia was pronounced deceased at the scene. Identification of the occupants is currently being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Involvement of alcohol or drugs is unknown, and the crash remains under investigation. The Raisin Township Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Raisin Township Fire Department, Lenawee Community Ambulance, Tecumseh Police Department, and the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office. The Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team was utilized for the investigation.
