Monroe Twp., MI – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Monroe County Community College Sunday evening on a report of a bomb threat.
College officials received a social media post that alleged a bomb had been placed in one of the buildings on campus.
Multiple Sheriff’s Office personnel responded, as well as three canine handlers that specialize in detecting explosives from the Michigan State Police. A search was conducted of all the buildings and grounds and no explosive devices were located.
The preliminary investigation revealed the social media post was a screenshot of a recycled threat from February, 2023.
