Cambridge Township, MI – The Cambridge Township Planning Commission held their regular meeting Wednesday night and gave the public an update from their December meeting, when they placed a moratorium on quarry-extraction use permits.

The group is in the process of changing their ordinance regarding those uses. There is an application submitted to the Township by a land-owner to mine on their property off of US-12 near Killarney Highway for at least 10 years… and then build a dozen homes around what would become a man-made lake.

Chairperson Tim Kissel talked to WLEN News after the meeting about what has happened up to this point…

The plan has been met with opposition by residents near the property, and in the surrounding area.
