State Police Investigating Fatal Car v. Pedestrian Crash on I-75

Monroe, MI – The Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Wednesday, January 11th at approximately 9:48pm on northbound I-75 near the northbound scales (Mile Marker 8).

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Monroe Post were dispatched to a car v.  pedestrian crash. Upon arrival, a female was located and determined deceased after she  was hit by a SUV traveling north on I-75. Efforts to identify the female were completed, but unsuccessful. MSP released this information this morning about the deceased: The deceased is a white female with brown hair. She was wearing black and white pajama pants and a black in color “Pink” long sleeve shirt. She was also wearing black tennis shoes.

The investigation is ongoing and neither speed, drugs, nor alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash. Troopers were assisted on scene by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, LaSalle Fire Department, and Monroe County Ambulance.
