Adrian, MI – A musical based on a classic Christmas movie will come to Adrian starting this weekend when the Croswell Opera House stages ‘Miracle on 34th Street.’

The story of a department-store Santa who turns out to be the real thing was a hit when it was first released in 1947, and soon became a holiday classic.

Like the original movie, the musical tells the story of a young girl, Susan Walker, who has been raised by her practical-minded mother, department store manager Doris Walker, to reject Santa Claus as a fairy tale. But when Doris accidentally hires the real Kris Kringle to portray Santa at Macy’s, both she and her daughter gradually learn to believe.

‘Miracle on 34th Street’ runs for three weekends with performances beginning tonight at 7:30pm and ending Sunday, December 4th.

Tickets may be ordered online at croswell.org or by calling 264-7469.
