MDOT: Sand Creek Hwy. Bridge is 70% Complete

Sand Creek, MI – The Michigan Department of Transportation issued an update on the Bridge Bundling Pilot Project…including the latest on the Sand Creek Highway Bridge.

MDOT said that the latest bridge reopening took place late last week in the Upper Peninsula.

The Sand Creek Highway bridge project, according to the progress dashboard, is 70% completed.

The bridge will have its superstructure replaced, which includes full removal and replacement of the bridge deck and supporting beams.

The pilot project is funded by Federal Highway Improvement Program dollars. MDOT bridge staff and consultants are doing preliminary design and construction administration work for the bridge bundling program.
