County Commission Pulls Q3 Funding for Lenawee Now

Adrian, MI – The Lenawee County Commissioners voted, 6-3, to not fund Lenawee Now for the third quarter of this fiscal year…and those that supported the move said that it is because of their stance on Project Phoenix.

Commissioner Dawn Bales, who represents Dover, Madison, Fairfield, and Seneca Townships, told WLEN News after the meeting why she made the motion to not fund the economic development organization for the third quarter. She said that she has always supported Lenawee Now, but not their stance on Phoenix…

 

Board Chairman David Stimpson, who represents the City of Tecumseh and Tecumseh Township, said that the vote reflects what the people of Lenawee County wanted…

 

Commissioner Nancy Jenkins- Arno, who represents the Cities of Morenci and Hudson, Rollin, Hudson, and Medina Townships, told WLEN News why she voted to keep the third quarter funding for Lenawee Now…

 

Commissioner Dustin Krasny, who represents Woodstock Cambridge and Rome Townships, said that Lenawee Now should be in an advisory role, not ‘yes men and women’…

 

The proposed Project Phoenix was put on the shelf by Lenawee County Administrator Kim Murphy due to lack of possible State funding.
