Adrian, MI – Two economic and business-oriented organizations in Lenawee County have weighed-in on the proposed ‘Lenawee Community Complex’, commonly referred to as Project Phoenix.
Lenawee Now issued a resolution stating that it is too early to take a position on the “appropriateness or viability of Project Phoenix without a complete, through, and objective analysis of the ability of the project to be fiscally self-sustaining and to not be a burden on the taxpayers of Lenawee County or a future burden some years henceforward.”
The Greater Lenawee Chamber of Commerce issued a statement encouraging local residents to support Project Phoenix for the benefit of the business community. They said, in part, “While the benefits will be far-reaching in our county, the benefits to each individual community will be up to us and how we as a Chamber, and a Community, take advantage of this great opportunity.”
The proposed project would be built on the former Tecumseh Products site…which was purchased by Lenawee County in the Fall of 2021.
