Lansing, MI – Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced that awards were made to local school districts, intermediate school districts, nonpublic schools, and public school academies for state funding from the Competitive School Safety Grant Program. These were the area schools impacted:
Arbor Preparatory High School, Branch Intermediate School District in Coldwater,Hillsdale County ISD, Hillsdale Preparatory School, Lenawee Intermediate School District, Light of The World Academy in Pinckney, Lincoln Consolidated School District, Monroe County ISD, Saline Area Schools, St. Mary Catholic School in Pinckney, Summerfield School District, and Ypsilanti Community Schools.
The LISD was awarded $100,000.
These grants will go toward the purchase of equipment and/or technology to improve the safety and security of school buildings, students, and staff.
