Winter Storm Watch Issued for Lenawee County Wed. and Thurs… What to Expect

***Edit to original story: The National Weather Service sent an alert Monday morning to WLEN stating that there was a Winter Storm Waring in effect. WLEN then reached out to the NWS and was able to confirm that there is NOT a Winter Storm Warning at this time…rather, it is a Winter Storm Watch***

Adrian, MI – A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from Wednesday morning thought Thursday evening for south and southeast Michigan.

The National Weather Service reports that a long duration of light to moderate intensity snowfall is expected between Wednesday morning and Thursday evening. Snow may become briefly heavy at times. Total snow accumulations of 8
to 14 inches possible.

Travel could be very difficult at times, with the hazardous conditions possibly impacting the morning and evening commute both Wednesday and Thursday.

Snow will increase in coverage Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. An area of snowfall will then persist Wednesday  and Thursday. Gusty winds from the north on Thursday will also contribute to some blowing of snow.

In anticipation of the weather this week, the City of Tecumseh has declared a Snow Emergency for Wednesday at Noon through Friday at Noon.

The emergency means that all vehicles must be removed from the street so that City crews can remove the snow.

The Tecumseh Police Department may issue violations to any vehicle that is parked on a City street during the emergency.
