Single-Vehicle Crash in Madison Township Results in Minor Injuries and Power Outage

Madison Twp., MI – Possible mechanical issues with her vehicle caused a Blissfield woman to veer off of US-223… resulting in minor injuries, a traffic back-up, and a brief power outage.

Madison Township Police Chief Michael Shadbolt told WLEN News in an email that the crash happened at approximately 5:05pm Tuesday afternoon near Ogden Highway. The driver indicated that the vehicle started to shake and then went off the side of the roadway…struck a utility pole and flipped upside down in the ditch.

The crash caused an electrical wire to fall, which was repaired by Consumers Energy. The driver was transported to Hickman Hospital for minor injuries.

The driver was a 53 year old female from the Blissfield area, the cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Madison Township Police Department.
