Tecumseh, MI – Members of the Tecumseh Education Association have agreed on ratifying their contract with Tecumseh Public Schools.
The ratified contract is for three-years. Members recently came to a tentative agreement with the district and will see several changes with this new contract.
The three-year deal includes a new pay schedule that switches away from a wage-based schedule, which was a staple of previous contracts. In year one, teachers will receive a 2% stipend as part of the federal COVID relief hazard pay. This will not increase the pay scale. Teachers will receive a 1% salary increase in year two and year three.
Previous language changes in the last tentative agreement were carried over to this new deal.
With the contract being ratified before the first day of the new school year, the contract will be
paid out as normal and there will be no retroactive pay.
The Tecumseh Public Schools Board of Education unanimously supported the deal during Monday night’s Board of Education meeting.
