Michael Orlando talked to WLEN News about a volunteer “vaccine status registry” program that SHU will be participating in this year…
If you have been vaccinated against COVID-19, you will not be required to wear a mask indoors. If you are not vaccinated, you must wear a mask in buildings at Siena Heights University. If you choose to not participate in the “vaccine status registry”, then you are subject to randomized COVID-19 testing throughout the year. SHU will not test everyone every week, but testing will take place for the unvaccinated and those that chose not to disclose if they have been.
One point of emphasis in the plan is that the University is prepared to be flexible with their policies, and is open to pivoting during the school year.
As of Wednesday afternoon, SHU was waiting for guidance from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics on their policies for student athletes.
