Lansing, MI – This Independence Day weekend, the Michigan Department of Transportation is removing lane restrictions on nearly 63 percent of its road and bridge projects statewide to ease traffic delays for holiday travelers.

Beginning at 3 p.m. Friday, and continuing until 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 6th, 107 out of 171 projects statewide will have lane restrictions removed.

There will be a few restrictions still in place in the listening area this weekend:

I-75, in Monroe County, has median shoulder closures in each direction with a temporary barrier wall at Laplaisance Road. The road only has the westbound lane open over I-75; eastbound traffic is detoured.

I-94, in Jackson County, has the following restrictions:
– The Lansing Avenue bridge over I-94 is closed and detoured.
– The M-106 …Cooper Street… the entrance ramp to westbound I-94 is closed and detoured.
– Northbound US-127/M-50…West Avenue… has one lane closed at I-94 with the ramp to westbound I-94 closed and detoured.
