Lenawee County, MI – During Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, the American Red Cross urges eligible donors to band together to provide hope and healing to patients fighting cancer by giving blood or platelets.
Cancer patients undergoing surgery and chemotherapy may require red blood cell or platelet transfusions. In fact, patients fighting cancer need more blood than those with any other disease, using nearly one-quarter of the nation’s blood supply.
Upcoming blood donation opportunities in Lenawee County include:
- Blissfield October 15th from 11:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. at the Blissfield American Legion
- Hudson October 19th 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Thornhill Baptist Church
- Adrian October 22nd from 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Christian Family Centre
- Tecumseh October 23rd from 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Tecumseh United Methodist Church
- Morenci October 27th from 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Morenci American Legion
