A 36 year old Adrian woman had to be flown to a hospital from the scene of an accident on Thursday.

The Michigan State Police are investigating the collision between a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle in the area of Morey Hwy and Cadmus Rd in Dover Township.

MSP Monroe Post troopers learned that a tractor trailer being driven by a 33 yr old male subject was attempting to back into a private driveway when it became stuck in the snow on the shoulder of the road, leaving the trailer portion blocking the entire roadway.

The driver then left it to walk down the road and get help. While the vehicle was unattended and  blocking the roadway, the trailer was struck by a 36 year old female from Adrian who was driving on Morey Hwy.

The vehicle became lodged underneath the semi trailer, pinning the woman inside. She was extricated and transported to St. Vincent Hospital via Lifeflight.

The other passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

The driver of the semi truck was not present at the time. Troopers were assisted by members of the Clayton and Hudson Fire Departments.
