
Tipton, MI – TLC Community Credit Union recently donated $10,000 to Hidden Lake Gardens of Michigan State University in support of their Reach for the Sky project. Hidden Lake Gardens is building a 700-footlong canopy walk and 100-foot tree tower on the Hidden Lake Gardens property located in Tipton.
The project includes construction of a 10-story ADA accessible tree top tower and a 700 feet canopy walk. This addition will give visitors an up-close observation of trees, birds, insects and animals. By walking amongst the tree-tops and enjoying a 360-degree bird’s eye view of Hidden Lake Gardens, the Irish Hills, and Lenawee, Jackson, Hillsdale, and Washtenaw counties.
Randy Smith, President and CEO of TLC Community Credit Union is pleased that TLC is in a position to assist in helping this innovative project come into fruition. “When Chuck Gross approached us regarding the project, we discussed with our board and the support was quickly approved. We have a hidden gem in our county and our hope is that with TLC’s monetary support the project gets completed quickly for everyone to enjoy.” Paul Pfeifer, Managing Director at the Hidden Lake Gardens thanked TLC for their support of the project and is looking forward to inviting the public back for the early summer canopy walk unveiling.
