Tecumseh Police Urges Residents to Lock Car Doors After Recent Break-ins

After a recent string of vehicle break-ins and two vehicle thefts, the Tecumseh Police Department is asking residents for their help.

In a statement released by Tecumseh Chief of Police Brett Coker, he said that all of the vehicles that were entered had been left unlocked, and the vehicles that were stolen were unlocked with the keys left inside.

Chief Coker is asking residents to please lock their doors. He said that these criminals want to move quickly, so if they check a car door and it’s locked, they will move on.

Coker said that he loves the fact that the residents of Tecumseh feel safe and secure enough to leave vehicles unlocked, but unfortunately there will always be those that will take advantage of an easy opportunity.
