A man in Hillsdale County allegedly raped and attempted to drown his girlfriend near a lake on Tuesday.
The man, a known parole absconder, was located on the same day… hiding in a bean field in Jefferson Township.
The suspect was lodged in the Hillsdale County Jail on a parole absconder detainer with additional charges pending.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Jackson Post were assisted by the Department of Natural Resources and the Michigan Department of Corrections Absconder Recovery Unit.
