The Health Resources and Services Administration’s Federal Office of Rural Health Policy recently awarded $24 million to 40 states for the second round of Rural Communities Opioid Response Program planning grants.
Michigan will receive six awards totaling $1.2 million for one year to formalize partnerships with local stakeholders, conduct needs assessments, and develop plans to implement and sustain substance use disorder, including opioid use disorder, prevention, treatment, and recovery interventions.

This award reaches Lenawee County on a local level too, as Bixby Medical Center was the recipient of $200,000.
