Local Drug Take Back Day Numbers Are In!

ProMedica Bixby Hospital hosted a site for the Drug Take Back Day for Lenawee County on April 27th. ProMedica Bixby and Herrick Hospitals offered to the community free disposal of all other medications including liquids, inhalers, patches and even sharps.

 

 

Collected from the event were:
More than 107 pounds of tablet and capsules
94 pounds of bottled medicinal liquids and topical products
10 pounds of inhalers
6 X 38 gallon container filled with sharps

 

 

Here are some specifics:
More than 6,600 narcotic tablets including 1230 hydrocodone containing tablets (i.e. Vicodin, Norco), 170 oxycodone containing tablets (i.e. Percocet), 700 benzodiazepines/sleepers (i.e. Valium, Ativan, Ambien, etc.), 220 stimulants, 1,100 tramadol tablets, and 2350 gabapentin capsules.

 

 

The Clinton Police Department held their own take-back event as well. They had 39 people drop off their medications and 12.6 pounds of pills and medications.

They also had a number of people drop off unused opioids.
