WLEN News received an update on the structure fire that occurred Tuesday afternoon at the old Jefferson School building in Adrian.
Interim Adrian City Fire Chief Aric Massingill said that the cause was a campfire constructed in the building. It appeared that homeless people were living in the abandoned schoolhouse.
Crews from Adrian Township, Madison Township, and Adrian City Fire Department were able to put the fire out within 5 minutes.
