Adrian Educational Foundation and Alumni Association Recognizes Outstanding Alumni and Teacher Mentors

Adrian Educational Foundation (ASEF) and Alumni Association announce the 10th annual round of Outstanding Alumni and Teacher Mentor awardees for 2018. Awardees will be honored in a special ceremony October 4, 2018 – 6:30 P.M. in the Adrian High School Performing Arts Center.

The 2018 Outstanding Alumni Award winners are:

Robert W. Freligh, class of 39’, Adrian Michigan

Douglas Nelson, class of 64’, Adrian Michigan

Sharon Davis, class of 66’, Spring Texas

Mark Summers, class of 73’, Minnestrista, Minnesota

Jere Righter, class of 87’, Adrian Michigan

The Outstanding Teacher Mentor Award winners are:

Thomas Allor, Adrian High School

Marie Lucius, Adrian High School

Doug Ruesink, Adrian Community Education Center

The Alumni Association began the Outstanding Alumni Award in 2008 in conjunction with the ASEF’s Outstanding Teacher Mentor Award. Since then, 57 Maples and 30 APS teachers have been recognized for their accomplishments as businesspeople, educators, civic leaders and cheerleaders, in the military and arts. Each year’s winners are honored at a reception and program in the AHS Performing Arts Center the Thursday before Homecoming. Honorees are also recognized in the homecoming parade and at the game on Friday.
