The Siena Heights University nursing program announced that its 2018 graduates achieved a 96 percent first-time pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) exam.
This is the second consecutive year the program has achieved the highest pass rate in program history. In fact, the program has averaged a 92 percent first-time pass rate on the exam for the past four years. The Michigan Board of Nursing (MBON) requires an 85 percent first-time pass rate average over 3 years and AACN-CCNE (SHU Nursing’s accrediting agency) requires an 80 percent first-time pass rate average over the same period.
“The 2018 NCLEX-RN pass rates are an indicator of the hard work and dedication of our Siena nursing students and faculty,” said SHU Director of Nursing Stacey Meyers. “The SHU nursing faculty have worked diligently to prepare our nursing graduates to be optimally equipped when taking this exam. Furthermore, the NCLEX-RN pass rate over the years reflects the strength of Siena’s nursing program, both in the didactic and clinical settings.
“What makes Siena’s nursing program unique and successful is the individual plan for NCLEX achievement that each student receives prior to graduation,” Meyers continued. “These plans are tailored to the individual student and are based on their results on national standardized testing benchmarks that are integrated throughout their time in the program. We are very proud of the accomplishments of our program and the success of our 2018 nursing graduates.”
