Authorities continue to investigate two individuals caught posting a message that said “Whites Only” over a school drinking fountain. The pair were turned over to Cambridge Township Police. Onsted Community Schools Superintendent Steve Head gave this report- labeling the signage as “racist” on the school’s Facebook page Tuesday afternoon:

The post reads: “Last evening, two individuals, who are not students of Onsted Community Schools, posted a racist sign above a drinking fountain in our high school. The sign was then posted by the individuals on social media. Both individuals were caught on security cameras by school administration and turned over to Cambridge Township Police. Onsted Community Schools will not tolerate any type of racism and appreciate the support of our local law enforcement in this matter. Steve Head, Superintendent Onsted Community Schools”

The post and photos of the sign have resulted in widespread speculation across local social media. WLEN News has reached out to the Cambridge Township Police Department and requested further information regarding the incident and signage. Officials have yet to return requests for comment.
