On Saturday May 19th at the Lenawee County Fair and Event Grounds, there will be a scrap and tire collection event. There are a few requirements in order to participate in the collection event:
- You must call (517) 264-4511 and provide the quantity of tires you plan to bring prior to 4:30 pm on Wednesday, May 16th.
- Only car, pick-up, and motorcycle tires (on or off rims) are covered under the MDEQ (Michigan Department of Environmental Quality) Grant Funds.
- Proof of Lenawee County residency is required. Your ID will be checked.
- Up to 10 clean tires per vehicle with no caked on dirt or mud.
The first five tires are fee and the limit is five free per household. Up to five additional tires may be accepted at $2 per car/pickup tire or $1 per motorcycle tie. No semi or tractor tires will be accepted. If you have more than 10 tires, call for early drop off appointment. Calls for appointments and questions must be made before 4:30 pm on Wednesday, May 16th.
