
ADRIAN — The NAACP of Lenawee will host its annual Juneteenth Celebration Friday, June 19 from 4 to 9 p.m. in downtown Adrian, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.
The celebration also highlights African American history and culture.
The event will feature a Boys and Girls Club of Lenawee variety show from 4 to 5 p.m. and live music from Toledo-based R&B and funk band Distant Cousinz from 5 to 9 p.m. Additional activities include a youth 3-on-3 basketball tournament, bounce house, and face painting.
The basketball tournament will be held at Crossroads Community Church parking lot on North Broad Street. Registration begins at 11 a.m. For tournament information contact Javon Jenkins at 517-918-7923.
