ANN ARBOR — Registered nurses at the University of Michigan will hold an informational picket Sunday, May 17, as contract negotiations with the university continue.
The picket begins at 10 a.m. at Fuller Park Field 7 in Ann Arbor and is not considered a work stoppage, with nurses participating on their own time.
The Michigan Nurses Association says nurses are pushing for safer staffing levels, improved retention efforts, competitive wages and benefits, and fair treatment for advanced practice registered nurses.
The union also alleges unfair labor practices by the university. Negotiations began in October, and the previous contract expired March 31.
