LANSING — Michigan is recognizing National Small Business Week as entrepreneurship continues to grow across the state.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation says nearly 950,000 small businesses now operate in Michigan, with digital tools and artificial intelligence helping entrepreneurs launch companies faster and at lower costs.
State officials say mentorship programs, funding opportunities, and Michigan’s engineering and manufacturing workforce continue to support startup growth, although challenges like inflation and competition remain.
Nationally, more than 36 million small businesses employ nearly half of the American workforce.
