ADRIAN — The Adrian City Commission has approved changes to park rental rates in the city.

Interim Parks & Recreation Director Matt Tomaszewski presented a list of proposed prices for rentals across the city’s park system during the Commission meeting on Monday.

This year’s swim lessons, which will be held in partnership with Adrian Public Schools, have increased in price, with group lessons costing $74 for residents and $84 for non-residents, and private lessons costing $94 for residents and $104 for non-residents.

Shelter and gazebo rental prices across all parks, including the amphitheatre at Trestle Park, have been streamlined, with the only differences being resident and non-resident rates for weekdays and weekends.

The city’s baseball fields, with the exception of the field at Riverside Park, now have the same prices for weekday practices, weekday games and weekend games.

Other notable changes include increases across the board at the Piotter Center, including a new $50 deposit to rent the center’s classrooms and cafeteria, reduced rates for disc golf course rentals, and new fees for the use of concession stands.

Proposed fees for pickleball court rentals were met with skepticism by the Commission, and at the behest of Commissioner Robert Behnke, were left out of the final resolution to approve the rates.

All park rentals in the City of Adrian have a $200 deposit, liability insurance as needed, and a charitable discount of 25%.
