ADRIAN — Lenawee County is continuing work on its long-term materials management plan, as officials look to strengthen and expand recycling services across the county.

The update comes as the Village of Blissfield has withdrawn from the county’s recycling pilot program, with the public drop-off dumpster now removed from the area.

County leaders say the planning process is focused on building a more sustainable system for handling waste and recyclables, with an emphasis on long-term partnerships, funding opportunities, and improved access for residents.

In the meantime, residents are being directed to existing recycling drop-off locations in Adrian, Onsted, and Hudson, as the county looks for a new municipality to host the pilot program.

Officials say the materials management plan will help guide how recycling services are developed and expanded throughout Lenawee County moving forward.
