ADRIAN — New grant funding is coming to Lenawee County aimed at improving emergency response capabilities.

The Personnel and Ways and Means Committee approved the acceptance of two grants totaling just over 24 thousand dollars through the Michigan Public Safety Critical Incident Mapping program.

The funding will be used to create detailed digital maps for key locations, including Adrian College and multiple county buildings and healthcare facilities.

Officials say the mapping technology is designed to give first responders faster, more accurate information during emergencies, helping law enforcement, fire, and EMS navigate buildings and respond more effectively.

The grants also include associated budget adjustments to support the projects.

County leaders say the upgrades are part of an ongoing effort to strengthen public safety infrastructure and improve response times during critical incidents.
