WASHINGTON — Congressman Tim Walberg is weighing in on the president’s proposed federal budget.

The Michigan Republican and chair of the House Education and Workforce Committee says the plan focuses on cutting what he calls wasteful spending, improving efficiency, and making sure taxpayer dollars deliver value.

In a statement, Walberg compared federal budgeting to household finances, saying families are making tough decisions and government should do the same.

Walberg said, quote, “Families across the country are sitting at their kitchen tables making tough decisions about how to stretch every dollar—we owe it to them to do the same in government.” Unquote.

He adds he’s ready to work with the administration to move those priorities forward.
