MORENCI — The City of Morenci will begin routine hydrant flushing later this month.
The Morenci Department of Public Works will carry out the work from April 20th through April 30th, between 6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., following a phased schedule across the city.
Crews will start west of Bean Creek on April 20th and 21st, then move north of Main Street on April 22nd and 23rd, with additional work in that area wrapping up on April 27th. Flushing will then take place south of Main Street from April 28th through the 30th.
Officials say the process helps maintain the water system, improve flow for fire protection, and clear mineral buildup from lines.
Residents may notice temporary discoloration in their water during flushing. While safe to use, it could stain laundry. Officials recommend running water before washing clothes and limiting use during flushing hours.
