ADRIAN — Lenawee County Community Mental Health and other partners are hosting a safeTALK suicide alertness training next month in Adrian.
The half-day session is set for Tuesday, April 14th from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the River Raisin Room at Lenawee County Human Services, 1040 South Winter Street.
Organizers say the evidence-based training will teach participants how to recognize possible signs of suicidal thinking, respond using the TALK steps, and connect people with community resources. Participants will also receive a certificate of completion.
The cost is 20 dollars per person. Organizers say continuing education credits will also be available for several professional groups, including social work, SCECH, SMOKE, MCOLES, and MIPEERS.
The training will be facilitated by certified LivingWorks safeTALK trainers Barb Smith and Anne Kramer.
Registration information and contact details are included on the event flyer.
