Sandra Roe Hyatt – Tecumseh

Sandra Roe Hyatt, age 89, of Tecumseh, MI, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home in Adrian, MI. She was born on July 22, 1936 in Tecumseh, MI the daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Ruth (Fosdick) French. On July 23, 1954 she married Robert L. Roe in Cadmus, MI and they shared over 39 years together before his passing in 1993. On September 12, 1998 she married Charles Russell Hyatt at Sand Creek Community Church and they shared 22 years together before his passing in 2020. Sandra worked as a bookkeeper most of her life for various companies until retiring in 1998 from Dempsey & Dempsey PC. Sandra was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Tecumseh until it’s closing and then went to church with her son and his wife at Thornhill Baptist Church in Hudson. She was a member of the Fairfield O.E.S. in Fairfield, MI. Sandra enjoyed spending her free time doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She loved attending shows at the TCA and the Croswell, and rarely missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy. A devoted Detroit Tigers fan, Sandra followed the team with enthusiasm. Most of all she cherished time spent with her family and her lifelong friend, Pat Long.

She is survived by her sons, Mark (Cheryl) Roe of Clayton, MI, Brian (Therese) Roe of Jackson, MI and Eric (Brenda) Roe of Clayton, MI; three step-children, Carrie Castorena, Jane (Chuck) Hurley and Mickey Hyatt all of Tecumseh, MI; five grandchildren, Amanda (Josh) Butz, Andrew (Jessica) Rittenhouse, Andrew (Rachel) Roe, Anthony (Alexis) Roe and Nicholas (Samantha) Roe; 12 great-grandchildren, Ellery, Charlie, Evan, Owen, Theo, Eli, Delilah, Addison, Trevor, Easton, Chelsea and Madelyn and also several step-grand and great-grandchildren. Along with her husbands and parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Roe.

Funeral service for Sandra will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 1pm at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Maki officiating. Visitation will be held from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park in Adrian, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee or Thornhill Baptist Church.
