ADRIAN — Twenty nonprofit organizations across Lenawee County are receiving new funding through the annual Gleaner Gives campaign.

Officials with Gleaner Life Insurance Society say this year’s campaign donated more than $44,000 to local groups in partnership with the Lenawee Community Foundation.

The Lenawee Humane Society received the largest donation at just over $11,000. Other major recipients include Neighbors of Hope, the Joseph Wildberg Fund for Veterans, the Catherine Cobb Safe House, and Hospice of Lenawee.

Officials say the donations are funded through employee contributions and are intended to support essential community services such as housing assistance, food access, and transportation support.

Over the past 10 years, the Gleaner Gives campaign has donated more than $675,000 to nonprofit organizations in Lenawee County.
