
Cheryl Therese Patrick (Moores), of Tecumseh, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home under hospice care on Monday, March 9, 2026. She was 78 years old. Cheryl was born on January 27, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, to Jack and Elaine (Schmidt) Moores Sr., both of whom preceded her in death.
Cheryl was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who made her family the center of her world. No matter how full her days were, she always made time for them. She was known for her love of cooking, her ability to make every holiday meaningful, and the many traditions she created and passed on through the years.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Cheryl was a dedicated member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh, where she was active in the Stephen’s Ministry and served as an Eucharistic Minister.
Cheryl is the beloved wife of 57 years to James Patrick II, having married on April 20, 1968. Loving mother of James (Tammy) Patrick III of Boyne City, MI, Amy McAran of Tecumseh, and Jennifer (Shane) Lucas of Tecumseh. Cherished grandmother of Patrick McAran (Devin Sciumbato), Lucas Patrick, William McAran, Austin Lucas, Nolan White, Addison Lucas, and Drew White. Sister of Richard (Clare) Moores, Tom (Karen) Moores, Ann (Keith) Clark, and Mary (Mike) Spitzley. Sister-in-law of Joyce (Steve) Wallace. Cheryl is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Moores Jr.; her parents-in-law, James and Carrie Patrick; and her granddaughter, Alyssa Patrick.
Visitation will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until Mass begins at 12:00 p.m. with Father Dan Wheeler as celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Cheryl’s memory to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church Helping Hands or to Surf the Earth, a non-profit organization founded by her late granddaughter, Alyssa (Ali) Patrick. Arrangements have been made with the guidance of the Marry Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
