Kevin Alfred Lesperance, 68 years young, of Lansing, MI, passed away on February 19, 2026 in Lansing, Michigan after a long battle fighting cancer. He was surrounded by family, including his father, his four daughters, his firstborn granddaughter, and his best friend.   Kevin was born in New Castle, Indiana to Lewis Lesperance and Della Lesperance (Wall) on May 23, 1957. He attended Holt High School and studied construction and business in college.   Kevin was an entrepreneur. He was a successful and very admired businessman.  Earlier in life, he worked with his father for many years at Ann Arbor Ceiling & Partition, Jackson Rental Center, and contributed his skills to many other contracting projects throughout the years.  He was very skilled in residential and commercial painting. Later in life he started his company, “My Painter” and enjoyed a fine reputation.   Kevin was an exceptional father and grandfather. He took so much pride in his four beautiful daughters and five amazing grandchildren. He was at every birthday, holiday, sports game, play, choir concert, or gymnastics meet. He taught all of his daughters how to snow ski and water ski, and was an exceptional skier in his own right.   Beyond being a hardworking professional, amazing Dad and Grandpa, we remember Kevin as a lover of life. He truly was a man that lived in the moment. Ever the optimist, he always had a positive attitude, a contagious smile, and so much charisma.  He was diagnosed with cancer and given five months to live. Kevin went on to live five more years. He was a fighter and he never gave up.  He loved classic music and his memory comes alive whenever we hear songs by Bob Seger, Rod Stewart, The Eagles, Tina Turner or the Rolling Stones to name a few of his favorites.   He was an incredible slalom skier, often dock starting on Torch Lake, he truly was a wonder to watch, his elbows touching the water while gracefully skiing in between the wake and showing off his famous “rooster tail” move.   Other hobbies Kevin really enjoyed included Harley Davidson bike rides, days spent on the golf course in the sunshine, taking after his Father’s love for gardening and looked forward to his annual trip to Torch Lake to see the beautiful fall colors. He was always there for his friends and family no matter what time of day or night.   Kevin is survived by his father, Lewis Lesperance, his daughters, Alexis Lesperance, Jillian Lesperance (Tomasz Kaczmarek), Caitlin Looman (Josh Looman), Meagan Ferman (Bo Ferman), and five grandchildren, Ella Lesperance-Olsen, Lawson Looman, Lennon Looman, Rooney Kaczmarek, Wesley Kaczmarek, sister in-law, Rachel Wesley, his four nephews, John Ross Wesley, Ian Wesley, Duncan Wesley, Jack Wesley, and niece, Evelyn Wesley. Other family members that he had been close with and is survived by, include Joyce Byrd, Brett Peck (Melanie Peck), Shannon Peck (Elizabeth Peck), Duane Peck, Heather Hall (Adam Hall), his beloved dog, Boomer, as well as many wonderful friends, including his best friend of over 55 years, Jeff Watson.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Della Jean Lesperance (Wall), his stepmother, Donna Lesperance, his step-brother, Bruce Laraway.  Arrangements with Purse Funeral Home.  www.PurseFuneralHome.com
