ADRIAN — Lenawee Christian School will serve as Michigan’s host site for the U.S. Department of Education’s History Rocks Tour, a national initiative highlighting civics education ahead of the 250th anniversary of American independence.
The program is scheduled for Thursday, March 19 at 12:55 p.m. in The Centre Auditorium on the Lenawee Christian Ministries campus in Adrian.
Organizers say the event is designed to promote civic literacy and encourage engagement with the historical foundations of the United States.
The program will include remarks from historian Dr. Gleaves Whitney, former executive director of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation and Museum. The president of Hillsdale College is also expected to attend, and Lenawee Christian secondary students will participate in portions of the program.
Media check-in will take place in the Merillat Room prior to the event.
A press gaggle with speakers will follow the program, and Lenawee Christian School plans to distribute photos, highlights, and additional information afterward.
