Reynaldo (Ray) Rivera, Jr., 87, of Adrian, MI, passed away on February 26, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born on February 16, 1939 in Thrall, TX, Reynaldo was the beloved son of Reynaldo Rivera, Sr. and Maria Vega Rivera. He graduated from Adrian High School in 1958 and served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1965. On January 31, 1981, Ray married Donna (Gravelle) Sloan. They shared 42 years of marriage until her passing in 2023. He was a devoted son, brother, spouse, father, grandparent, uncle, and friend.

Ray worked at American Chain and Cable then at Dura Convertible Systems, where he remained until his retirement in 2001. Whenever the weather permitted, Ray could be found on the golf course, where he shared many happy memories with Donna and his friends. He enjoyed watching professional golf tours and college football, and was a dedicated University of Michigan fan. He was a man of many talents and was often found working on various projects around his home and outdoors.

Ray was proud of the life he built and was loved by many. He will be greatly missed. Ray is survived by his daughters Lisa (Dale) Rivera and Sonia Rivera, and his step-daughter Annette Sloan; grandchildren Robert Campos, Lynsey (Jacob) Rye, Kathryn (Matthew) Perry, Frank Angulo, Sharlene (Robert) Viramontes, Courtney (Vidhit) Puri, and Trysten Valdez; sisters Helen (Abel) Martinez and Mary Ann (Edward) Soto; great-grandchildren Robert Campos, Ariah Moya, Arthur Campos, Dominic Viramontes, Declan Rye, Elijah Viramontes, Johnny Viramontes, and Delia Puri; nieces and nephews Linda Burciaga, Susan Houghton, Gloria Olivarez, Abel Martinez, Sandra Guzman, and Freddy (Lisa) Olivarez; as well as many special great-nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Reynaldo Rivera, Sr. and Maria Vega Rivera; his wife, Donna Rivera; his step-daughter, Nina Sloan; and nephews, David Houghton and Michael Burciaga.

A funeral service will be held on March 4, 2026, at 4:00 pm at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian, MI. Visitation will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 pm prior to the service. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice of Lenawee for their compassionate care

and support.
