Romaine ‘Dennis’ Brown..was the son of Romaine Barney and Marcella Elizabeth Brown, passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 83. He was the 6th of seven children, born on Groundhog’s Day in Dearborn MI, 2/2/1943. After being drafted into the US Army in 1965, and serving 18 months during the Vietnam War, Dennis married his pre-war sweetheart in April of 1967, Dolores Louise Short, who had waited faithfully throughout his tour of duty. The couple raised three children together, Jeffrey, Katherine, and Timothy. The two remained married until his passing, just shy of 59 years. Having worked multiple jobs in the early days of raising a family, Dennis eventually settled into a career at Ford Motor Company for over 30 years, and was able to retire in 1997. Dennis loved fishing and bird hunting in his younger years, and took up golf during his time at Ford, which he enjoyed playing long into retirement. He also loved the Detroit Red Wings, he was always cold loved sitting in the sun when mowing lawn, which he did for many years at home and Pierce Lake Golf Course after he retired. Dennis was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his journey is marked by love, compassion, and has left a void in the hearts of his family, and friends. He is survived by his wife Dolores, their three children, Jeff, Kathy, and Tim, and his precious granddaughter Kacey, who he frequently referred to as “His girl or the light of his life”, along with his many nieces and nephews, who he loved spending time with. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Doris, Betty, Joyce and Denise.
